[Bug]: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it

• I have checked the existing issues for an existing issue. I even actually looked at the ones that are pinned to the top!

Describe the bug

When I open CKAN, it stops updating after trying to download KSP-CKAN/CKAN-meta/archive/master.tar.gz. I have the option to retry downloading it, skip, or abort the whole update. Retrying doesn't work.

Steps to reproduce

• Run ckan.exe
• Wait a second
• Pop-up appears

Can you please explain how to do this as if I'm 9 minutes old? I'm not too experienced with desktop.

I'm still lost. I'm not too experienced with github, so I'm sure I'll need a walkthrough on how to see the root of this error, let alone fixing it.

It's downloaded, but I don't know how to find what's causing the problem.

OK, if that worked, then we can rule out problems with your ISP/router or your hosts file.

The next thing to check is your OS's firewall. I can't teach this to you; try doing some web searches and seeing what you can find.

The best I can do with this is allow CKAN through my firewall. However, the archive won't appear in the list of applications I'm allowed to let through.
