No research data after engine repair on launchpad

After repairing the engine on the launchpad and launching the rocket directly (without changing scenes), no further research data is collected for the engine.

Is this supposed to happen?
Is this normal behavior or is it a bug?

Sounds fine to me. Earning 1000 data per flight is good enough.
If it allowed you to gain more du after every repair then you could max out the engine in just a minute with reignition spam.

Last I checked it's outright impossible to get DU in pre-launch from any source, including engine failures. So not gaining any DU in flight afterwards is strange, because you normally wouldn't have hit the per-flight DU cap yet. I haven't ever had that happen to me, though, so if you have steps to reproduce including a video showing the problem then further investigation is warranted.

Gave it a quick test and I am entirely unable to replicate the stated problem. I get no failure DU when still attached to launch clamps, and generate DU just fine in flight after a repair.

I do get ignition DU, which should be prevented if pre-launch ignition failures are off, but for some reason it's not. That's an entirely separate issue, though.

I'd love to help you guys, but I'm just fed up right now.
After 101 rocket launches and over 1.5 hours of trying to reproduce the error, no errors were generated. I'm completely done with it.

When starting and triggering the stage, an ignition error occurred (after which the recording started).
Then the repair was initiated and I waited until it was complete.

On the second start, the engine has to be started using the activation button because the stage has already been activated.
And now TestFlight isn't calculating any test data.
