release the changes for supporting "pointer_omitempty"

Hello, when can we expect to have the release done, this is a very needed feature as we use this at work and optional fields are being set to null causing mutations to fail

The documentation is updated to use the new directive but the release doesn't seem to have happened.

The latest release (v0.8.1) is broken with the latest version of Go (v1.25.x) due to an outdated dependency (golang.org/x/tools@v0.24.0) that doesn't compile on go1.25.1.
I tried the latest version of genqlient from the main branch and the issue is fixed there. 🎉

It's harder to get this to work from a tool like mise as "go:github.com/Khan/genqlient" = "latest" will only fetch the latest release. For anyone coming across that, use "go:github.com/Khan/genqlient" = "7c070dd710caf1c753ce317664db4fa06c5553fa" to force mise to fetch the latest commit on main branch (at time of writing).
