how to use Task Master with Kilo code

i have heard about Task Master being very useful and efficient in token usage, but could't install it yet and make it work with kilo code - any one have it running?

I did get it installed, but I've not been able to successfully use it. I get these kinds of errors:

Given that the get_task and get_tasks tools both require tasksJsonPath, and the generate tool was denied, I am unable to proceed without a clear and consistent method for accessing the tasks.

This continues even after upgrading to the most recent version, 0.21 (I think... current as of July 21, 2025).

Just wanted to inform that both

• 1. manually editing .kilocode/rules/memory-bank/tasks.md, or
• 2. using the /newtask command

works fine for me. 🎉

ℹ️ Note: Maybe you need to initiatilize the memory bank first?

I used KiloCode to edit some taskmaster instructions originally intended for Claude Code, and included them in .kilocode/rules/. They likely still need some edits, but taskmaster was able to find pending tasks that were created using the taskmaster cli.

I believe task master should also be merged with Kilo or a similar system to be implemented in Architect mode, so that tasks can also be generated. It is something Kiro has as a feature in plan mode, and it is very nice, as you get a clear, structured way of understanding and building.
