Hey developers,
I've been using Cursor recently, and one feature has really stood out to me: the way it handles context and rules for its AI. Instead of attaching a massive block of rules and instructions to every single prompt, Cursor lets you specify rules that are only applied under certain conditions. For example, you can tell it to apply a specific set of formatting rules only when you're working with a .md file.
Even better, it has a function where the AI itself can analyze the context of your request and decide whether a certain rule set is relevant. This means the model isn't being bogged down with a ton of irrelevant information for every single query.
This seems like such a massive quality-of-life improvement. It makes the entire interaction so much cleaner, faster, and more efficient. It feels like a smarter, more dynamic way to interact with an AI assistant. Instead of the user having to constantly manage the "prompt clutter," the AI is doing some of that work for you.
For those of you who work with large-scale projects or just have specific workflows, imagine how much time this would save. No more repeating the same instructions over and over.
