Best practice for using PTC components in Trame App

Hi all,

I would like to start using the PTC components in my trame application but I'm just looking for best practice.

For example the only example where is see the traditional way of building a trame app with SinglePageLayout is this example reset-camera-example.py

The above example is how I would have thought I should use the PTC components

But I presume when I wanted to use the PTC component 'Viewer' like in this example multi-views.py I would not use the SinglePageLayout approach.

And one last example cone-with-slider.py, it uses the likes of web_app.side_top which does use viewer.

So a couple of questions

• Can I use any of the PTC components with the traditional approach using SinglePageLayout except Viewer?
• When should you use one over another? My application will use more Paraview functionality in the future. Should I not be using SinglePageLayout?

1. yes
2. it depends what you aim to do. Turning a ParaView state into a Web app in 5 more lines or creating a full fledge ParaView based application with complex UI.

Regards item 2 it’s a full fledge Paraview app with complex UI. So I presume no need for Viewer in this scenario?
