Does the firmware for CC2652RB requires the external 48MHz or not?

Hello,

i'm building a custom board with a pi and E72-2G4M05S1F module. This module is built around the CC2652RB.

The CC2652RB's datasheet states that (paragraph 3.Description):
Integrated BAW resonator technology eliminates the need for external crystals without compromising latency or frequency stability.

But the crystal can still be used if needed. The E72-2G4M05S1F module does not embed the 48MHz crystal.

So my question is: Does the last firmware provided here requires the external crystal or not?
