"action" field not always present in messages

Hey,
I have some of my devices that expose both "battery" and "action" fields.
Sometimes when the device reports on battery, the action field is not present.
I use OpenHAB to operate those devices and I get a bunch of warnings like: Executing the JSONPATH-transformation failed: Invalid path '$.action' in '{"battery":40,"linkquality":255,"update":{"installed_version":604241925,"latest_version":604241925,"state":"idle"},"update_available":false}'

Nothing really serious, just annoying. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing?

(BTW, just wanted to let you know that zigbee2mqtt saved me from deconz - which is a great piece of software, but maybe less interesting from the engineering point of view. Happy to having migrated to zigbee2mqtt, great job!)
