OK, So I have been struggling with this for a good 8x hours now. and finally (at the cost of much of my sanity), I have this resolved. I have a Sonof ZB Dongle P, plugged into my Synology NAS, and I am running HA + Docker to install. Everything was working perfectly until the upgrade. Everything was supposed to be simple, just add the adapter and I should have been good to go. That couldn't be further from the truth. It just wouldn't recognise the device, no matter what I did. So, in the end, these are the steps I followed:

I'm trying to reflash the stick, but I can't get it to work
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? ls -l /dev/serial/by-id lsusb Can I flash with https://dongle.sonoff.tech/sonoff-dongle-quick-flasher/ ??? |

I was getting the same errors as people here such as "Error: Failed to connect to the adapter (Error: SRSP - SYS - ping after 6000ms)". |

Ok, so trying to summarise the above, since I'm having the same issue but finding too many different solutions proposed without a clear path.
Now the proposed different solutions flavours are about: Solution A) placing correct Serial entries in configuration.yaml (even if it worked previous but it doesn't anymore) Solution B: add a variable in OS environment ZIGBEE2MQTT_CONFIG_SERIAL_ADAPTER=zstack Solution C) Nuke Z2M & MQTT and reinstall all from scratch ... and add a mix of all solution flavours above. So now I'm running with the following configuration, 2 spaces indent checked, and still get the error message. I guess the solution lies in the correct combination of the 4 elements, even if I tried mostly all combinations: - firmware flashed on key: --> (7.4.4 on usb-ITEAD_SONOFF_Zigbee_3.0_USB_Dongle_Plus_V2) So anybody has any further solution or troubleshooting hint ? My humble opinion .. this zigbee configuration looks a bit too fragile when you have plenty of devices connected and suddenly you risk to have to start from scratch again and again and reconfigure all devices one by one at worst. thanks |

Is there a way to rollback to an earlier version of Z2M? I've tried everything in this thread and it still won't work, just getting the same "No Valid USB adapter found". My dongle is flashed to the latest zstack version and I've tried every combination of serial config. I don't want to waste any more time on this. |

I had the same issue with the latest Z2M 2.3.0-1. I had to downgrade to version 1.41.0-1, and for now I’m sticking with it, because surprisingly everything works. I don't see any reason to update. |

Yo yo, i found out the solution. Assuming you're running a docker container for Home assistant, you need to make sure you pass the usb ports so HA detects the device. update your docker-compose.yaml with something like this. |

So this made it 'easier' for some, but broke a lot of installations, particularly docker based where passing a USB coordinator is concerned... |

TL;DR
Add
adapter(likelyzstack, see docs for more info) to your Zigbee2MQTTconfiguration.yaml, example:What changed?
Koenkk/zigbee-herdsman#1197 brings improvements to the adapter discovery feature. This feature allows Zigbee2MQTT to automatically detect your adapter (preventing the need for a
serialsection inconfiguration.yaml).In case Zigbee2MQTT could not automatically detect the type of adapter, it would default to
zstack. This gives issues to people using other adapters. When not specifying theadapterand when using e.g. an EZSP adapter, Zigbee2MQTT will fail to start withError: SRSP - SYS - ping after 6000msinstead of a clear error message. This behaviour has now been changed. Starting from 1.41.0, in case Zigbee2MQTT cannot automatically detect your adapter, you have to explicitly specify theserialportandadapter. This change in behaviour has 1 drawback. In case Zigbee2MQTT defaulted to
zstackbefore in your setup, it will now fail to start withUSB adapter discovery error (No valid USB adapter found). Specify valid 'adapter' and 'port' in your configuration.. This can be fixed by addingadapter: zstackto your Zigbee2MQTTconfiguration.yamlas described above. The full documentation can be found here.
