LEDVANCE SMART+ Compact outdoor plug reports energy meter only manually

I have a new LEDVANCE SMART+ Compact outdoor plug EU with energy meter. All values get updated every time the value changes, but not the energy meter. This value only gets updated when I press the relevant button in Zigbee2mqtt. Is it a failure or do I miss something?

"It is a known issue with the LEDVANCE SMART+ Compact Outdoor Plug EU with energy measurement. This behavior where the energy measurement value is not updated automatically is not an error on your part, but a known limitation of the device.

Based on similar experiences with LEDVANCE sockets, it is common that the device status, including the energy measurements, is not automatically reported back to Zigbee2MQTT. As a workaround, you need to query the status manually or set up regular polling."

Hello! Dealing with the same issue and being bit lost, would you mind to help me with a workaround to set up a polling to get the energy sum updated on regular bases?

I exchanged this plug against a Nous A6Z

Thank you! As I only bought these for energy metering there is no chance to find a way? I have the indoor types but the issue seams to be same. Anyway, I will try to go with A1Z model to see if that work for me...

Same problem here, I will return it and get the Nous plug instead. Wish I saw this before I wasted my time..

At the end Ive found the solution by making an automation with MQTT topic. Working like a charm since then. Just give it a try and you will see.

I had thought of a similar solution too, but not MQTT (much faster), thanks for the suggestion! 😉

This used to work just fine for me until I updated in ZHA at least
