Since yesterday I have connected the apparently identical device (motion sensor), at least according to zigbee2mqtt. The interview went smoothly, the model ID shown by zigbee2mqtt is the same, i.e.
zigbee model: CK-BL702-MWS-01(7016), ZG-204ZE (10G mw motion detection)
model: ZG-204ZE, HOBEIAN
software build: 0117122025

According to the package the sensor was shipped in, this should rather be a ZG-204ZV. Furthermore, the package shows a dot indicator at the specification "Without Lux (optional)". So I figure that we both have a model without illuminace detection and this most likely is not a zigbee2mqtt issue.
BTW, the payload in the MQTT message is always "payload.illuminance = null".
