Support escaped percent

generate_tex_elements(L"\%") fails with KeyError: key "\\%" not found, but L"\%" renders correctly in Pluto.jl. Would it be possible to support that case in this package as well?

Context: Came across this when using Makie with latex axis labels.

Want to reiterate that request. I have not been able to get a dollar sign $ to display correctly with Makie and LatexStrings, which I assume is a MathTeXEngine issue. Below is a minimal example for both percent and dollar sign.

Can you try to manually register a command?
For escaped underscore I did:

import MathTeXEngine as MTE
MTE.command_definitions["\\_"] = (MTE.TeXExpr(:punctuation, '_'), 0)

I think, other signs should work similarly... maybe use :symbol instead of :puncutation to have it use math font....
