kbib miss to locate a DOI value to several references in scientific articles

I’m really amazed of your Python script “kbib”.

I just discovered, that it is (still) not perfect.

Kbib sometimes miss to find a DOI for a reference, even there are a DOI assigned to the specific referenced article.

I found an article with 284 references as an example of where kbib can fail. “Review on physical and chemical activation strategies for ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC)”, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cemconcomp.2024.105519.

50 references were not found to have a DOI value, and I attach a list of the names of titles without a found DOI.

I really hope that you can find time to correct kbib, so it will not miss so many references.

@MrUnknown789556 I have released a new version of kbib with a new search functionality that will be able to capture few of the entries that were missing previously. Give it a try.

Dear Koushik. Thanks for quick response. Your new version did change a lot. The missing found BIB entries went down from 53 to 6. So out of 284 entries, it only missed 6. Great result. I think the last 6 should be found also. I will look into these 6 specific articles/DOI values, to maybe see what the problem can be. Then I will inform you. If you can get all BIB entries (where there are some to get), your module will be brilliant. So simple to use, so extraordinary an output. This tool only searches in Crossref database. If it fails to find some references, then most probably that is not available in the Crossref database
