How does map check work?

I cannot add any affixes to the map check function. How does it work exactly?

What should happen is you bind a hotkey to map-check then when you use that hotkey when hovering over a map, a box pops up:

From either this menu or the map-check settings page you can apply different tags to specific modifiers. Ei "good" "warning" "really bad"

in the map check widget you do this by just clicking the mods and it cycles through the options. in the settings menu you can search and then assign a selection to them(make sure to save):

A small request, after checking a few maps, I find that, in the settings, the list of generated mods is huge, and most of it are not for PoE2. Any chance to remove all those and only include stuff that apply to poe2?
