What happened?

I downloaded the AppImage and tried to run it. I get this output:

dlopen(): error loading libfuse.so.2

AppImages require FUSE to run.
You might still be able to extract the contents of this AppImage
if you run it with the --appimage-extract option.

I am on Ubuntu 25.10 (Wayland). I am not sure why this shared library isnt installed, maybe because its a bit older. libfuse3-4 is installed already on my system.

Hey, what's your OS, did you try to install the lib ?
sudo pacman -S libfuse.so.2 on CachyOS for example

Yeah I wrote in the issue description that I am on Ubuntu 25.10 with Wayland. I saw some issues regarding wayland here, but nothing seemed related. I tried installing the library but I had some other issue where the DNS lookup of the Ubuntu archive mirror failed. That is probably unrelated though. I will try again.

I am just confused since it was my understanding, that every required library for an AppImage is included inside the AppImage itself?

Okay so installing libfuse2t64 did allow me to launch the AppImage, however running with --no-sandbox I still got the following output:

Trying to set QT_QPA_PLATFORM:

So I think this is related to the other Wayland issues? However doing XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 && ./Exiled-Exchange-2-0.13.8_82cf138b50a91ae7d4222390c65c9308.AppImage --no-sandbox does seem to work for me. I still get

but the overlay for price checking now works ingame.

Ye Wayland does not work with the 2.0.13.8 you have to run it in x11 as you done.
Same error message on CachyOS

Okay but regarding libfuse2, don't you think that this could hint at a bundling mistake (i.e. not including the lib in the huild process)?
Maybe that specific library is needed for all AppImages with a certain build process though and is more unicersal to AppImages.
