Annotations on timeline

Let's say you are listening to your work in progress track in playback, and you think that there is a problem in a certain part: you know that you need to do something, but you can't figure out what, at the moment.
What would you do? You would probably take the Project Notes and write: "From bar 23 to bar 42, in the lead synthesizer track, there is a problem".

As things like that happens many times, especially when collaborating with others, LMMS should offer an Annotation tool on the Song-Editor that allows you to highlight a certain part on the timeline and put some text as an annotation.

What will be highlighted? There are two different ideas:

• Highlight the timeline

I think a specific new track should be made for these, instead of repurposing the timeline for this kind of stuff. The timeline already houses loop points and is used for navigation, adding more stuff into it would make things confusing and hard.

It seems that the "dedicated track" idea is the most appreciated.

When in playback, the annotations show at the right time following what has been written on the Annotation Track. Then, if you "mute" that track, they won't show.

We still need something to "link" the annotation to a particular element of the Song-Editor. Maybe we could click an element and drag it to the Annotation Track holding ctrl: when that annotation will show, the element would be highlighted in some way...

A "annotation track" could contain regions with text. The annotation under
playhead would be highlighted and it's text expanded and made opaque, while
other annotation clips would be transparent and put next to the currently
highlighted annotation.

special tracks would be good. For now i use B&B-tracks to make structure in a project. In fact i just published videos for that aproach:

I'm marking this as 1.0.1. for now but I'm not sure of the exact schedule or implementation. Comment tracks seems to be the generally agreed upon solution for this.

Can we make a track coloring but not pattern? It's more comfortable in my opinion. And pattern coloring also must be.
