I am looking for a solution that is able to provide DLL licensing.
We have developed a dll which will be incorporated into another user’s software.
Will your solution be able to generate licensing on DLL?

The licensing of the DLL is not necessarily different from the licensing of desktop applications, mobile application, IoT, mobile devices, plugins and many other technology stacks.

The validation request can be sent from the DLL (online licensing) to the NetLicensing services or retrieve customers entitlements from the licensing file (offline licensing).

In regards to the DLL following need to be considered on the planning side for your licensing strategy:

• will be DLL licenses enforced during the design-time (developer) or run-time (end-customer)
• is online validation possible at any time; e.g. online vs. offline
• specify unique customer identifier ( licenseeNumber )
  • this can be company ID if design-time licensing applies
  • or, for instance, bound to the end-customer number if run-time licensing applies
