Is the plugin dead? I see no maintenance anymore

I see that there is no maintenance anymore on this plugin. Are there forks or alternatives you can suggest?

From our side, we are happy to continue maintaining this plugin. However, the WordPress team has introduced a new maintenance process that is poorly supported by both the WP team and related service providers.
This is preventing us from publishing new versions of the plugin.
