button doesn't appear in CRUD

If I'm understanding https://backpackforlaravel.com/docs/6.x/crud-buttons correctly, adding CRUD::button('export')->stack('top')->view('crud::buttons.quick'); to my Crud Controller, in the setupListOperation() method, should result in a button appearing at the top, but it isn't.

First, here's my CRUD controller:

Any ideas? I'm running backpack/crud 6.6.5 and backpack/pro 2.1.8 on Laravel Framework 10.43.0

Try to enable access and add some label.

            'access' => true,
            'label' => 'Email',
        ]);
