Package phpoffice/phpexcel is abandoned, you should avoid using it. Use phpoffice/phpspreadsheet instead.

That warning actually got me wondering if it's even needed. There's no clear sign on the docs why that dependency is required - could very well become something optional.

The package depends on a very outdated Datatables package... Although there's no option for Excel exporting on the Datatables view used by this package.

Sad this has been completely abandoned by the maintainer in favor of a commercial future, not even bugfixes. I'm afraid of pushing the package upgrade and breaking the current state of this.

@igorsantos07 yes, people abandon working for free in favor of feeding their families. Sad, I know.
