Provide multiple options for donation

Both times I have attempted to donate because I use the app regularly and it has been beneficial for me, I come to the roadblock that I am not able to donate due to 'International Regulations'...

At the last step, paypal says:
"This transaction has been declined in order to comply with international regulations."

I am from the UK, I do not know which internation regulations these are, but if you could set up something to donate that can accept currency from everywhere on earth, preferably not reliant on paypal like Ko-Fi, then I could donate.

It may be that you have to accept donations in another currency but the safest bet would be set up either/or both a crypto wallet (btc/xmr etc.) or a donation site accepting in whichever other stable FIAT currency you feel comfortable.

Would you have any suggestions of websites that accept other currencies?
Currently my Ko-fi has both Stripe and Paypal, and should in theory accept every currency.

So I researched this, it turns out Brazilian accounts automatically reject AFT (cross-border account funding type) payments.

Since 2025, Stripe requires Brazilian accounts to verify personal ID (CPF) or business ID (CNPJ) information precisely to match Central Bank requirements. If the receiving account hasn’t passed full verification, or if Stripe’s global and Brazilian compliance settings don’t align perfectly, incoming international payments are declined.stripe+1

This is due to Brazilian financial law, which treats many international transfers as restricted foreign exchange activities.

In short: Stripe is declining your transfer because Brazilian banking rules prohibit most cross-border individual-to-individual payments, even for small donations. Only locally processed methods (Pix, domestic cards) are fully permitted at present.stripe+2

Perhaps setting up Stripe with Pix support on Ko-Fi would help fix the issue. Otherwise i'd suggest accepting donations in either EUR or USD or another favoured FIAT currency. Or otherwise crypto currency, i'd recommend XMR or other relatively stable and private coin.

Personally i'd prefer to donate in LTC, XMR or FIAT EUR or whichever currency you prefer. I am unsure what to suggest other than opening perhaps a Liberapay? or a Patreon, see if your Paypal can accept in another currency than BRL, (potentially Vakinha or Benfeitoria are workable Brazilian options?) or maybe Wise?

I double checked my Stripe account, apparently all payment methods should be working with KO-FI now.
I'll try to provide crypto addresses. Do you have any recommended crypto donation system?

I've added https://nowpayments.io/payment/?iid=4672519500 as an option on FUNDING.yml. I'll wait for a few test donations before adding it to the readme

Went to try a couple test donations for you but get the above error.

Did you lock it to only allow a R$5 donation? It won't allow me to alter the amount but the equivalent crypto for R$5 in XMR and LTC is both too low for NOWPayments to process. I recommend allowing an open donation amount or atleast a larger range....

For your reference, I think 15 real is around the minimum I'd expect you to be able to process through NOWPayments - fees and any cut for the site would eat up that 5 R$ real quick, for a crypto donation that low you could place a static donation address of a simple personal wallet you hold - for simplicity i'd say just up the minimum and open the cap (if this is possible).

I've added "https://nowpayments.io/payment/?iid=6167081608" requiring BRL 20 instead of BRL 5, It's not possible to have an open value on NowPayments, so I think that if the BRL 20 link works I'll create a few more with distinct values (15, 25, 30...).

I don't think we'll be able to go below BRL 15
