This is a little hard to describe. So far, it only happens in Fortnite. Not sure when it started happening but here it is. I can connect to my desktop via Moonlight client and my mouse and keyboard inputs work normally there, but once in game it gets weird.

The mouse and keyboard inputs work just fine for gameplay (movement and actions all work as expected) but when I hit esc to access the menus, the mouse cursor seems to be following (objects you can click on are highlighted when you hover over) but trying to click on those objects either does nothing or just closes the menu. Also, double clicking (happened by accident, twitchy fingers don't judge) causes the game to reduce to windowed mode at 1920x1080 (my normal setting is fullscreen at 1440p). I can't even interact with the window control buttons in the top right, even though they react to hovering over. At this point, only gamepad inputs work reliably to navigate menus.

I tried sitting at my computer, and all the mouse and keyboard inputs work fine from there. I tried a couple of other games and so far, the others are working as intended.

I tried verifying Fortnite game files. Not sure if it is a Sunshine/Moonlight issue or if it's just Fortnite. Should I remove and reinstall sunshine at this point or maybe graphics drivers? This is so strange, I'm not sure what to do with it.

Just for context, my rig is a ryzen9 5900xt with 4x8gb 3600mhz and a dell rtx 3080. Running windows 11 with all the latest drivers and updates.

Not that it seems to matter what device I connect with but my two go-to's are my old laptop running windows 10, or my android phone.

I've encountered the exact same issue and found a couple of solutions that worked for me:
Solution 1 (Recommended):
In your Moonlight client settings, change the display mode to "Windowed Borderless" instead of fullscreen. This resolves the mouse input conflicts that occur specifically in Fortnite's menu system while maintaining good performance.
Solution 2:
Use a USB/IP solution like VirtualHere. This creates a more direct connection for your input devices and bypasses the input translation issues that can occur with Moonlight's built-in mouse/keyboard handling.
The issue seems to be related to how Fortnite handles mouse input in fullscreen mode when streamed through Moonlight. The windowed borderless solution works because it eliminates the fullscreen-specific input conflicts while still giving you the full-screen experience.
I'd recommend trying Solution 1 first as it's simpler and doesn't require additional software. If that doesn't work, VirtualHere is a solid alternative that provides more direct hardware access.
