Barrels show air instead of dirt after a certain time period (1.20.6)

Does this seem normal:

There is no crash that happens and this only happens with more than one barrel in a similar area close to the other barrels. It doesn't happen when doing this manually with a singular barrel or with a hopper and chest doing so for that one barrel.

Can confirm this is present in 1.20.1. In this version, it can happen even if placing things manually sometimes. While filling the barrel, it will show nothing in there, but certain items (i.e. silkworms, saplings) can be placed in there without issue. When the barrel is full, right clicking it will not give anything. Once the barrel has entered this glitched state, it is stuck in this state until saving and restarting the server, from what I can tell.

Provided how buggy barrels are and their refusal to be automated, and given the nature of the resources that are available, I'd recommend just making a Wandering Trader that can refresh their trades with the press of a button through use of command blocks instead. This needs to be fixed as it SEVERELY impedes early game progression.

I have looked through my own logs for any details about this, and nothing has come up.

I playing on 1.20.1 Fabric and yea - this is a problem with just generic hooper.

1. Place hooper over barrel and fill him
2. Barrel produce only 1 dirt
3. After that 1 dirt block that barrel consume allowed resources (no matter how to paste, by hand or hooper) into the void. It still makes particles, but nothing doing. This barrel became buggy
4. If i try use other barrel, resources also disappear in the void. World reloading (by exiting in main menu) return barrel to work.
