Is there any way to change the way to enter pwnDFU mode on A6 devices

recently, i used legacy-ios-kit on linux. i wanna try to downgrade my iphone 5c to ios 7.0 by using "Other (Tethered)".
i remember there are some choices (such as ipwnder ipwnder_lite ipwndfu) when need to enter pwndfu
but now it will use ipwndfu by default without any choice.
i am using vmware so ipwndfu(checkm8) isn't available for me. is there any way to solve my problem?
