Will this work for a ipod that is disabled, connect to itunes?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but just thought it wouldn't hurt to ask, as maybe there is a work around... I tried looking for previous information here on this repo about this, but could not find anything.

As stated I have an old ipod touch 5 that I would like to be able to retrieve data from (pics, videos). It is currently locked down, as the wrong passcode has been entered too many times by my daughter.

It's currently saying "ipod disabled, connect to itunes". Any and all information I have gathered state that there is no work around to this, other then doing a complete wipe of the device, deleting all data.

I currently have more time on my hands to do some experimenting but like I said I don't think there is a way to recover data at this point.

Does anyone have any more information or thoughts regarding this?

you can try using the ssh ramdisk feature for this, but mounting the data partition can be hit or miss especially if its on ios 9+

Thanks for your reply. Awesome... No, I haven't plugged it in for years so not sure what iOS it's on. But I would bet at least 9, since I'm almost certain I've updated since 2016.

Thanks for the direction, at this point it's go for broke, so I'm going to try it anyways, even though I'm not certain what iOS it's on

It looks like it wants me to access on the device side to install "openssh" from the alternative package manager sources like cydia or zebra for the client side (ipod touch) SSH connection.. But to mention again, I have no access and can't do anything on the ipod touch 5. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

When first launching the script, I did get the version of the IOS its on - 9.3.5.

Then I selected the SSH Ramdisk option. Everything seemed to loading and working with no errors, until I got here (2nd pic)

I went ahead and just put in the SSH PW which got it in kDFU mode, but of course it did not connect via SSH.

Also note, that I can't do anything OTA, as my current wifi profile is not on the device as well.

any thoughts or ideas?

for the ipod touch 5, you will need to put the device in pwned dfu mode using checkm8-a5: https://github.com/LukeZGD/Legacy-iOS-Kit/wiki/checkm8-a5
