If i activate the option and mark some photos as my favourites, goto my favourites and press the back button on the left side i not return in the last album view.

It would also be nice if I could look through the photos as a slideshow or download them all together.

I implemented Favourites is a mean of "bookmark".
The functionality you are thinking about is more in line with "stars".
