Robust implementation of 3D MSI data, so that a 3D dataset can be visualised.
Problem Statement
Technologies that automatically slice and image a lot of data are becoming more abundant and it would be nice if we could support this with MSI datasets as well.
Proposed Solution
There is already some code for 2D/3D treatment of z coordinates in the MSI datasets, but it needs to be implemented properly and robustly for the datasets. In particular, due to the time it takes for MSI datasets to be created, usually non-consecutive samples will be acquired. This will require manual input from the user for the coordinate indexing and so on.
