It only happens in this server. Connecting to it immediately causes a crash stating "System.InvalidOperationException: Queue empty."

That is really weird, the code fails at reading the packet id
Is the server you try playing on yours?
This could be some plugin sending some packets in a wrong way.

I started updating the plugins and found that it was an issue with the ProtocolLib plugin and 1.19.4, and updating to a dev build fixed it. Thanks for helping!
