I'm converting a MF-NWT model to MF6 with a large number of MNW2 wells. The wells are all THIEM-type and a combination of specified-layer (NNODES > 0) and specified-screen-elevation (NNODES < 0). For the NNODES<0 wells, the screen(s) can cross multiple model layers.
What's the best option to convert the NNODES<0 wells to MAW wells? According to the documentation, if the conductance type is THIEM, the scrn_top and scrn_bot values are ignored and the screen length is the entire height of the single layer in which the well is located.
For NNODES<0 wells within a single layer, it looks like I can change the CONDEQN to MEAN and specify the scrn_top and scrn_bot elevations.
As far as I can tell, there's no option in MF6 for a well screen that partially penetrates multiple layers, other than multiple entries in the CONNECTIONDATA block, one per model layer?
FWIW, here are the MNW blocks for the two types of wells I'm trying to convert (NNODES>0 and NNODES<0)
