Device freezes after selecting NoCutOut from Developer options #2

ROM: Pixel Experience Plus
Version: Android 12.1
Other display related conflicting modules: Not installed
Flashing goes fine. After reboot, when I select NoCutOut from Developer options Pixel launcher crashes and whole device freezes. I have to force reboot to recovery and remove the module from data/adb/modules.
