Incorrect font in firefox

not all scenarios are covered by noto sans. here is example took with firefox:

Hey @alekksander after some tests i can confirm that something went wrong, i don't know if its something related to my form or firefox. Anyway I found a temporary solution: if you have a version of firefox with access to the "about:config" page you need to change the value of the following properties:

• font.name-list.sans-serif.x-unicode
• font.name-list.sans-serif.x-western

The value is as follows:

• NotoSans font: "Noto Sans"
• OpenSans font: "Open Sans"
• RobotoFlex font: "Roboto Flex"

i fiddled with these two entries before to have it kind of fixed (couldn't match font names), but putting exactly "Noto Sans" works better than my clumsy attempts and almost eliminates this issue. the only place where it can be spotted still is googles search field, where font still looks as it's written in capital letter (note that suggestions are displayed properly)

@F3FFO, that has to be done on desktop Firefox too. Basically, it doesn't automatically adhere to the OS fonts, regardless of OS. They usually merely happen to match. The exception is when they're set to font aliases on the Linux-based OSes where that's relevant (which is not all).

I've been meaning to request automatic adherence to the OS preference to Mozilla's Bugzilla instance as an FR, but haven't ever got around to it. If either of you are willing, please send the URI to me.

Irrespective, if AOSP registers the standard FontConfig sans-serif, serif and monospace fonts, you could try using those.

Unfortunately, I can't inform you of how to properly verify whether they're valid values on AOSP, because I've had no answers at android.stackexchange.com/q/257582. However, it does appear promising, considering sans-serif is set as the default for me in Nightly (although the others are absent):

Note that about:config shan't always be available in release Firefox. Solely ≥ Beta.
