Unable to customize tab item font and size

Hello, I'm creating a tabcontrol with Mahapps 2.4.5 and I like the result but I'd like to customize font family and size. From the properties I can and the xaml is adjusted successfully. However the app stays with the default font and size. It does not adjust. Is there anywhere else where these settings should be adjusted?
Here how it looks. To my needs the font is too big:

I found it. As I cannot see how to cancel the post I'll answer it myself in case anyone needs same answer. in VS below the standard WPF properties there is a section with the MahApps properties.

I just wanted to answer here as well. You can use these Proeprties also in XAML:

mah:HeaderedControlHelper.HeaderFontSize="12"
mah:HeaderedControlHelper.HeaderFontFamily="Courier New"
