Isn't the main problem that you can't scroll child scenes in a parent scene? The view box is always in absolute pixels, so if you change those coordinates directly it's a bit inefficient as many plots will update all their data. Like axis decorations etc

Hm, I dont see an inherent problem with the architecture, but maybe there are some bugs in the current implementation or with mixed coordinate systems?

I mean a simple translate would be better, if the view box observable updates it triggers a bunch of gpu data updating that is slower
