overriding/Extending RegisterProperty

This is related to #4650.
It would save us time if we add sort order to property declaration.
Should we override/extend RegisterProperty?

RegisterProperty relies on getting an IPropertyInfo, and you should be able to extend IPropertyInfo and return your custom type instead of the default type.

We thought about this, but it appears (if I am not mistaken) we will have to rewrite (refactor) most of our properties and retest our application.

It would require changing all your property declarations, yes. This is the extensibility point for extending RegisterProperty though.
