What is the goal of the tttool YAML import and what needs to be done?

I started to debug the tttool YAML import and would like to continue its implementation.
I would like to be able to use TipToi media (at least partially) with bookii. But what was your Idea?

What are the todos to support tttool YAML import in your opinion?
