you can expand upon this work
basically the idea you suggested was already being worked on
when applying an update, a script checks if flashed odm is valid
that one also does a dsds check, which might be harder to pull off now because it needs a change in manifest, and not just props
but you get the idea
now do it, since you so innocently brought it up :)
