Can't diff more than one file at a time

Describe the bug
If a change is done in more than one file ediff should show the diff for the first pair, and then something should happen to show the second pair, and so on. Today, in my setup, there's no second pair, the only keybinding I'm able to hit to successfully get out of ediff is quitting the session (

To Reproduce
Make aidermacs change more than one file, you can't reach the second pair of changes (files).

Expected behavior
At the very least, when hitting ? in ediff, i should see the keybinding for accepting the changes and going to the next air or changes, but nothing there seems to work either.

You have to quit the current file comparison before go to the next.

no, after q it exists and go back to the last showing file, forgoing the second comparison at all.

Hmmm, that may be a bug.

a better way to reproduce:

"add a line with 'hi!' at the end of file_1.txt; do the same with file_2.txt"

• shows diff for file_1.txt;
• when I hit q it will exit the diff, but will not open the next diff (file_2.txt);
• a weird side effect: if I open file_2.txt then I can see the inactive font faces background for ediff;
• then the only way to remove the glitch afaict is to delete buffer and open it again;
