Brief description
The subroutine ex_coef, in the boundary_layer physics section, has been developed over 30 years in the UM with multiple options and bug fixes being added over those years. This has led to the code becoming hard to follow and add further upgrades. With the port to LFRic_apps, there is the opportunity to remove redundant options and also restructure the code to make it easier to follow and make further changes, such as issue #159
