Cannot return null for non-nullable field when using mutation with Object type

hey,

I am trying to solve this for a while but no success.

I have the following entity:

@ObjectType()
@InputType('userSettings')
export abstract class IUserSettings {
  @Field()
  passKey: string;

  @Field()
  isHidden: boolean
}

@ObjectType()
export class UserSettings {
    @Field()
    readonly _id!: ObjectId;

    @prop()
    @Field()
    userId!: ObjectId
    
    @prop()
    @Field()
    userSettings!: IUserSettings;
}

the mutation has the following input:

@InputType()
export class NewUserSettingsInput {
    @Field()
    userId!: ObjectId;

    @Field()
    userSettings!: IUserSettings;
}

With the following resolver:

@Service()
@Resolver((of) => UserSettings)
export default class UserSettingsResolver {
    constructor(private readonly userSettingsService: UserSettingsService) {}

    @Mutation((returns) => UserSettings)
    async createUserSettings(@Arg("createUserSettingsData") createUserSettingsData: NewUserSettingsInput): Promise<UserSettings> {
        const userSettings = await this.userSettingsService.createUserSettings(createUserSettingsData);
        return userSettings;
    }
}

the mutation looks like the following:

mutation createUserSettings {
  createUserSettings(createUserSettingsData: {
    userId: "61018c9da07e72082c63e30a"
    userSettings: {
      isHidden: true,
    	passKey: "demo"
    }
  }) {
    userSettings {
      passKey
      isHidden
    }
  }
}

And the object entry is created in the databases, the userId get yielded correctly, but the userSettings object is not, and I am pretty sure the problem is somewhere with the entity, but i am unable to find where.

So what is the actual error? Have you debugged your application and inspected the userSettings you're returning?
