# Tutorial: Azure Active Directory single sign-on (SSO) integration with Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector
23+
24+
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to integrate Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). When you integrate Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector with Azure AD, you can:
25+
26+
* Control in Azure AD who has access to Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector.
27+
* Enable your users to be automatically signed-in to Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector with their Azure AD accounts.
28+
* Manage your accounts in one central location - the Azure portal.
29+
30+
To learn more about SaaS app integration with Azure AD, see [What is application access and single sign-on with Azure Active Directory](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/active-directory/active-directory-appssoaccess-whatis).
31+
32+
## Prerequisites
33+
34+
To get started, you need the following items:
35+
36+
* An Azure AD subscription. If you don't have a subscription, you can get a [free account](https://azure.microsoft.com/free/).
37+
* Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector single sign-on (SSO) enabled subscription.
38+
39+
## Scenario description
40+
41+
In this tutorial, you configure and test Azure AD SSO in a test environment.
42+
43+
* Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector supports **SP and IDP** initiated SSO
44+
* Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector supports **Just In Time** user provisioning
45+
* Once you configure the Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector you can enforce session controls, which protect exfiltration and infiltration of your organization’s sensitive data in real-time. Session controls extend from Conditional Access. [Learn how to enforce session control with Microsoft Cloud App Security](https://docs.microsoft.com/cloud-app-security/proxy-deployment-any-app).

## Configure and test Azure AD single sign-on for Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector
60+
61+
Configure and test Azure AD SSO with Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector using a test user called **B.Simon**. For SSO to work, you need to establish a link relationship between an Azure AD user and the related user in Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector.
62+
63+
To configure and test Azure AD SSO with Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector, complete the following building blocks:
64+
65+
1. **[Configure Azure AD SSO](#configure-azure-ad-sso)** - to enable your users to use this feature.
66+
* **[Create an Azure AD test user](#create-an-azure-ad-test-user)** - to test Azure AD single sign-on with B.Simon.
67+
* **[Assign the Azure AD test user](#assign-the-azure-ad-test-user)** - to enable B.Simon to use Azure AD single sign-on.
68+
1. **[Configure Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector SSO](#configure-beekeeper-azure-ad-data-connector-sso)** - to configure the single sign-on settings on application side.
69+
* **[Create Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector test user](#create-beekeeper-azure-ad-data-connector-test-user)** - to have a counterpart of B.Simon in Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector that is linked to the Azure AD representation of user.
70+
1. **[Test SSO](#test-sso)** - to verify whether the configuration works.
71+
72+
## Configure Azure AD SSO
73+
74+
Follow these steps to enable Azure AD SSO in the Azure portal.
75+
76+

78+
1. On the **Set up single sign-on with SAML** page, click the edit/pen icon for **Basic SAML Configuration** to edit the settings.
79+
80+
![Edit Basic SAML Configuration](common/edit-urls.png)
81+
82+
1. On the **Basic SAML Configuration** section, if you have **Service Provider metadata file** and wish to configure in **IDP** initiated mode, perform the following steps:
83+
84+
a. Click **Upload metadata file**.
85+
86+
![Upload metadata file](common/upload-metadata.png)
87+
88+
b. Click on **folder logo** to select the metadata file and click **Upload**.
89+
90+
![choose metadata file](common/browse-upload-metadata.png)
91+
92+
c. After the metadata file is successfully uploaded, the **Identifier** and **Reply URL** values get auto populated in Basic SAML Configuration section.
93+
94+
![image](common/idp-intiated.png)
95+
96+
> [!Note]
97+
> If the **Identifier** and **Reply URL** values do not get auto polulated, then fill in the values manually according to your requirement.
98+
99+
1. Click **Set additional URLs** and perform the following step if you wish to configure the application in **SP** initiated mode:
100+
101+
In the **Sign-on URL** text box, type a URL using the following pattern:
102+
`https://<your_company>.beekeeper.io/login`
103+
104+
> [!NOTE]
105+
> The Sign-on URL value is not real. Update this value with the actual Sign-on URL. Contact [Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector Client support team](mailto:[email protected]) to get this value. You can also refer to the patterns shown in the **Basic SAML Configuration** section in the Azure portal.
106+
107+
1. Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector application expects the SAML assertions in a specific format, which requires you to add custom attribute mappings to your SAML token attributes configuration. The following screenshot shows the list of default attributes.
108+
109+
![image](common/default-attributes.png)
110+
111+
1. In addition to above, Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector application expects few more attributes to be passed back in SAML response which are shown below. These attributes are also pre populated but you can review them as per your requirements.
112+
113+
| Name | Source Attribute|
114+
| ------------ | --------- |
115+
| firstname | user.givenname |
116+
| lastname | user.surname |
117+
| email | user.mail |
118+
| username | user.principalname |
119+
| position | user.jobtitle |
120+
121+
1. On the **Set up single sign-on with SAML** page, in the **SAML Signing Certificate** section, find **Federation Metadata XML** and select **Download** to download the certificate and save it on your computer.
122+
123+
![The Certificate download link](common/metadataxml.png)
124+

### Create Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector test user
164+
165+
In this section, a user called Britta Simon is created in Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector. Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector supports just-in-time user provisioning, which is enabled by default. There is no action item for you in this section. If a user doesn't already exist in Beekeeper Azure AD Data Connector, a new one is created after authentication.
166+
