To better understand the change, let's look at a detailed example of the old process. Assume that a reservation was bought in February 2022 with an overage credit (no Azure prepayment or Monetary Commitment was involved). You decided to return the reservation in August 2022. Refunds use the same payment method as the purchase. So, you received a credit note in August 2022 for the February 2022 billing period. However, the credit amount reflects the month of purchase. In this example, that's February 2022. The refund results in the change to the service overage and total charges.
