This how-to guide shows how to create an example logic app workflow that generates schemas for SAP artifacts. The workflow starts with a **Request** trigger that can receive HTTP POST requests from your SAP server. The workflow then generates schemas for the specified IDoc and BAPI by using the SAP action named **Generate schemas** that sends a request to your SAP server. To send this request, you can use either the generic SAP managed connector action named **Send message to SAP**, or you can use the specific SAP managed or built-in action named **[BAPI] Call method in SAP**. This SAP action returns an [XML schema](#sample-xml-schemas), not the contents or data of the XML document itself. Schemas returned in the response are uploaded to an integration account by using the Azure Resource Manager connector. Schemas contain the following parts:

This multipart how-to guide shows how to access your SAP server from a workflow in Azure Logic Apps using the SAP connector. You can use the SAP connector's operations to create automated workflows that run when triggered by events in your SAP server or in other systems and run actions to manage resources on your SAP server.

Before you can build business-to-business (B2B) and enterprise integration workflows using Azure Logic Apps, you need to create an *integration account* resource. This account is a scalable cloud-based container in Azure that simplifies how you store and manage B2B artifacts that you define and use in your workflows for B2B scenarios, for example:

To help you automatically create and deploy a Consumption logic app, this article describes the ways that you can create an [Azure Resource Manager template](../azure-resource-manager/management/overview.md). Azure Logic Apps also provides a [prebuilt logic app Azure Resource Manager template](https://github.com/Azure/azure-quickstart-templates/blob/master/quickstarts/microsoft.logic/logic-app-create/azuredeploy.json) that you can reuse, not only to create Consumption logic apps, but also to define the resources and parameters for deployment. You can use this template for your own business scenarios or customize the template to meet your requirements. For an overview about the structure and syntax for a template that contains a workflow definition and other resources necessary for deployment, see [Overview: Automate deployment for logic apps with Azure Resource Manager templates](logic-apps-azure-resource-manager-templates-overview.md).

This how-to guide shows how to create and work with variables so that you can store and use values in your logic app workflow. For example, variables can help you track the number of times that a loop runs. To iterate over an array or check an array for a specific item, you can use a variable to reference the index number for each array item.
