For most of the deployment cases, the colocationof the NFS volume in the same zone as the virtual machine should be able to deliver a latency of less than 1 millisecond for smaller writes. Advantage of this method is that you don't need to go through a manual pinning process as this is the case today, and that you're flexible with change VM sizes and families within all the VM types and families offered in the Availability Zone you deployed. So, that you can react flexible on changing conditions or move faster to more cost efficient VM sizes or families.
