we recently discussed this in a side thread of another issue/PR. iirc, the consensus was that such redundancy is pointless, as a PR is an issue. at least that's what i think. you can still use the "attach patches to issue" workflow, but i don't think this does anyone a favor. |

Yes, I don't think that opening extra issues and attaching raw patches there is helpful, especially for trivial contributions. It might make sense for complex and/or controversial topics before opening the PR, which will then otherwise most probably turn basically into a discussion platform and end up being rejected or re-written anyways...
