💌 User Story
During the 2024 MobilityData Summit in Montreal, a workshop was held on preserving compute bandwidth when publishing GBFS. One of the results of this workshop was a recommendation to use Etag HTTP headers with If-None-Match to return 304-Not-Modified when appropriate. GBFS contributor Entur 🇳🇴 has implemented this and reports approximately 90% of requests are now handled with 304-Not-Modified responses. Ongoing discussion of this topic can be found at the GBFS repo issue #708.
