Cannot exit when lost connection

I came to a situation that shows:

.tmux/plugins/tmux-fingers/bin/tmux-fingers send-input noop' returned 1

Running this binary manually shows that it cannot connect to a socket.

I cannot return to normal tmux when this occur!
You should provide a robust exit route when strange errors occur.

This might be the upstream error from the log:

Unhandled exception: Error executing process: 'wl-copy': Error while changing directory: '/workspace/srcdir': No such file or directory (File::NotFoundError)

1, the upstream code should not fail due to such runtime non-fatal errors.
2, the 'fingers' mode should immediate exit in case of any error instead of blocking normal tmux in a loop!
3, can we make the q and ctrl-c exit really robust? (instead of relying on sending 'exit')
4, when this condition occurs, the whole session seems affected/blocked! should we design such that it really is window/pane local (just like the tmux copy mode)?

If you get stuck in fingers mode, you can fix it from outside tmux with:

tmux set-window-option root
tmux switch-client -T root

Not sure how you got the wl-copy error, can you provide steps to reproduce?

I agree that error handling can be more robust, PRs are welcome :)

This is a quite nice plugin! (to remedy if the previous hurts)

In one of the tmux window, I am inside a container (the BinaryBuilder.jl build environment). The pwd in the container is not existent in my host OS.

The current error handling mechanisms at the two places should be 'switched': the place calling 'wl-copy' should continue running when error (failing to copy is trivial); the place 'send-input' should show error and abort (bound to error again).
