Anyway: I think it's better to relying on a minimal style, more near to the current Google design language.

To get things moving (and reach a minimum viable product), we could use ai png icons and later make them svg.

Number 8 looks cool, but a similar style has been used so many times by others (reverse image search gives dozens of logos in use that are nearly identical).

I think 7 looks cool if the dots and swirls were removed.

There is also an variant with a slight glow on a dark background.

I think without the glow looks good.

Should the black M legs be a different color? that would avoid visibility issues if a black background is used.

What color, for example? A lighter blue?

I think there is no need to add other elements in the central part, but to leave a straight linear gradient to adhere to the concept of minimalism. But if necessary, it will not be a big problem.

Yeah I think blue works.

Maybe try a slightly darker shade of the blue on each side. So each leg has the color above it. Sort of emphasizes a change. But maybe the same color for both legs would look better.

For the repository logo, we can add a different background or frame, and for the icon, we can use it without a background.

If we use it with a frame, it could be a mock Android launcher frame. So basically it's a similar appearance to what the users will see on their phone.
