discussion: Look and feel of the website

The website will be very simple:

• Brief description of what Morphe offers (Patched apps)
• Download link to Morphe (Manager)
• Links to any support channels we wish to use (Twitter / Reddit only?)

What style should the website have?

After I drafted the zombo.com inspired temporary GitHub organization profile, I realized we could add different variations of the website, where a small gear icon in the corner "Morphs" the website into that variant.

The default variant would be simple and nothing fancy. But the others could be really silly and exaggerated.

Some ideas:

• Vaporware. Neon gradients. Digital neon palm trees. High tech imaginary future with 1980's vibes.
• Terminal mode. Black background and green text CRT look. Mechanical keyboard sounds when clicking navigation links.
• Nature themed. Warm seasonal font/colors (or similarly based on the time of day for the user). Full screen background video of nature (example unrelated site).
• Zombo.com theme (basically the same as the profile linked above, except it uses the real branding resources). Can use AI voice cloning and reproduce the same voiceover except he's talking about Morphe with lines like "Patching infinity is obtainable with Morphe".
• Interactive RPG style character interaction dialog with a technology wizard.
• Anything else really wild/goofy/fun

Do the crypto wallets listed on the site belong to MorpheApp?

Yes. New addresses privately held in a wallet app (not on an exchange or anywhere else).

Why do I ask this, because the Donate button in About opens a stub of the old version of the site.

What makes it look sketchy?

Any specific improvements are welcomed, and right now we're internally planning a few website changes.

1. usually for community made projects where source code are accessible by anyone, you wouldnt need What Users Say part because its open source projects

2. the download button is also directly download the manager instead of linking it to the github releases page, even thought this is similar to revanced.app, for me this is sketchy because all of the counterfeit website does this

3. also since the donate part, even though i really dont want to touch this, i think it should be in a seperate page because of the crypto... people tends to think crypto stuff are sketchy, also i think you can setup kofi or buymeacoffee (or opencollective but i have never used it)

1. Proposals for text adjustments (especially if made by native English speakers) are very much welcomed.

2. I agree the download button could be directly linked to the GitHub release url. That should also resolve occasional weird issues of CloudFlare stalling from it redirecting but hiding the origin url. This is a simple fix and we will make this soon.

3. Donations was initially a separate page before we merged it into the home page, but we could return to a separate page since we now have other sub pages (/microg /translate). It would be great to accept non crypto donations, but we currently don't have any incorporated organization so there's no payment entity to receive at. All the developers here have been contributing to the prior projects for multiple years and no one ever accepted any donations or payments from any organization. Crypto is a hassle but it is useful to pay hosting fees and for AI providers for Crowdin pre-translate. If someone knows of a payment processor that can accept credit cards then convert and send the funds to a crypto wallet, that would be ideal for us

4. The gradient is part of the logo and banner, but any suggestions for changes is welcomed.

And a technical note, any website design must be deployed as a CloudFlare static pages.

Which means no server programming or scripting, and no server backend calls except for the most simple of CloudFlare workers that can fall into the free tier usage.

3. NOWPayments could be used for this, it does accept both credit card and crypto (with a .5% fees, which could be avoided by using crypto wallet directly).
5. vitepress also supports deploying into static pages like vercel or cloudflare

also you could enable discussion in github to seperate discussion and issues

Previously the discussion area was neglected or people would duplicate posts in one area because they didn't know it existed in the other.

I'll go thru and add a "discussion" template for the repos of interest.

We'd like to keep the website on CloudFlare because we have other services including DNS managed there. It makes it a lot easier doing it all in one place.

NOWPayments looks interesting, but it seems to require signing up and connecting payment processor, and all of those require an organization entity which we don't have setup (and we may never).
