Frame drop skip

I have some cheap IP cams going over WiFi to motion. RTSP of small stream D1 with codec copy on.
No big stream.

Sometimes recordings skip 10, 20, 30 or more seconds.
However live playback (with mpv) shows no frame skipping.

It's may have something to do with FFMPEG but it's been a while since I did any tests.
My motion config is basically the default with minor changes.
