I am trying to play audio on macOS Sonoma on an M2 Air laptop. mpd starts up without error, but when I try to play audio with client ncmpcpp, it kills mpd. My configs for mpd and ncmpcpp are shown below. I have a similar setup on Ubuntu which works fine, so it seems to be a macOS issue.
mpd config:
ncmpcpp config:
output of
mpd --version:relevant (latest) portions of log file (when mpd is started with
--verbose) after mpd shuts down when trying to play a song through ncmpcpp:steps taken:
mpd ~/.mpd/mpd.conf --verbosencmpcppps -au <my_username> | grep mpd, and by the fact that I can restart mpd without the "Failed to bind socket: Address already in use" message)I copied the mpd config from this gist. A comment there suggests that M1 chips are not supported, but I wanted to check - thanks!
